From: Fortun
To: Lom
Distance: 80km
Total: 1855km
So day started with slight climb, or well can I say started as the climb took 3.5 hours - but made only 15km during that time, though I came 1400 meters straight up also. A lot of sweat was left on that uphill and 2 litres of water was enjoyed during, with leaving me very short of water for rest of the day. Was nice to follow the terrain change around me as I climbed from very thick deciduous tree forest to land of glaciers, though it was quite warm up there with sun shining and wind being at its minimum. Reached the highest spot of that road at 1434 meters from sea level and started to descend slowly. Met some norwegian bikers who told that the route is much easier to ride from another direction and people usually do so, like they were, well guess it was more challenging to come from the sea side - but well done what done. Rest of the day was rather easy with the descend all the way to Lom. Met couple danish hikers on the camping site and we had good time comparing experiences between cycling and hiking the mountains.
